Missed/Cancelled Lessons

  • Your weekly lesson time is reserved, therefore, if a student misses or cancels a lesson on the same day as scheduled, we are unable to reschedule or provide a credit. Same-day cancellations and missed lessons are not eligible for a makeup lesson or tuition credit.

  • With at least 24 hours’ notice to the Studio Director—not the teacher—we may offer an alternate lesson time during the same week, subject to availability. Alternate times are not guaranteed.

  • If a teacher is absent, Tom Kopyto Music will provide a substitute instructor or schedule a makeup lesson. Tuition credits are not issued for teacher absences.

  • Tom Kopyto Music’s scheduled closures and weather-related cancellations do not follow local school calendars.

  • We will email closed dates for each billing cycle, as well as post closed date reminders to this website (not our socials).

Lesson Discontinuation

  • We require a one-month written notice to be provided to the Studio Director in advance of stopping lessons.

  • The notice period is one full month and tuition remains due during it, whether or not the student attends.

  • This notice period helps provide a smooth transition for both the student and teacher when pausing lessons is necessary.

Scheduled Vacations

  • Upon request, with at least a two-week notice provided to the Studio Director, we can schedule a makeup lesson for your vacation.

  • We are unable to credit for lessons missed due to vacations. 

Tuition Payment

  • Tuition is charged on the 1st of each month, for the month ahead, utilizing the credit card on file.  The tuition amount will be the same each month  (closed dates are already deducted from the tuition schedule and tuition is averaged over a 6-month period).

  • There is a $15.00 late fee if tuition is not received by the 1st of the month. 

  • Tom Kopyto Music reserves the right to discontinue lessons or other services when necessary, including for nonpayment, repeated policy violations, inappropriate or disruptive conduct, safety concerns, or circumstances that interfere with Tom Kopyto Music’s ability to provide a positive and effective learning environment. When appropriate, Tom Kopyto Music will make reasonable efforts to address concerns before discontinuing services.

Electronic Funds Authorization

  • As a duly authorized account holder on the financial institution account identified, I authorize Tom Kopyto Music LLC to perform scheduled or periodic electronic charges from the bank account or credit card on file for lesson tuition or other charges made to my account.

  • This also includes payment for the final month of lesson tuition required for the “one-month written notice” I am required to give. Furthermore, if any such electronic debit(s) should be returned by my financial institution as Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF), I authorize Tom Kopyto Music LLC to collect any returned item fees by electronic debit from my account, or I will pay the balance due by another payment method.
